  • Step into bathroom help

    Hello,

I have been redoing my bathroom for the last couple of months and I have come to problematic area. My den is on a higher level than the bathroom. The previous owners just had plywood on the step, but I want something nicer. I was planning on using an oak tread, but thought that I would like some suggestions, since I am not really into the tread idea.

Here are some pics of the area in question:

FYI, the bathroom floor is going to be white/black 50's style ceramic tile and the den is going to have a rug.

    Please give feedback!

Most step in showers extend the pan liner up and over the "step-in." Then the tile is installed on the poly liner on the step. I'd stay away from an oak threshold because water will grey it no matter what type of finish you put on it.
