Hello! I was watching HGTV the other day and this DIY man/person took chipboards, cut them into large tile size, made his own wood flooring from these "tiles". He put something around them that looked like chaulking, much like you would chaulk tiles, he stained them, just like other wood flooring, then put a sealer (the same sealer they use on basketball courts) on the whole floor, and made this his new "wood" flooring. It looked great on TV. I did not get to watch the whole show and by the time I got myself "tuned" in I had missed hearing all the instructions and just which show this was on. Now I have trying to find this procedure and can not find any information of this type of flloor anywhere. Anyone even hear of this?
I would like to hear from someone who knows about chipboard and if this can be made into a nice but cost effective flooring. Also, what do you think this man used around the chipboard tiles to make them looked chaulked? Can you use regular chaulk around wood tiles?
Any suggestions and feedback are appreciated. Thanks Janet M.
