    Hello All-

I bought some 7" rustic grade hardwood floor. I found rustic grade oak engineered flooring London that sells it. I chose him because the bundle have a lot of longer pieces. But its still the seconds. know holes and color variation after finished is appealing to my wife and me. When I bought it he sold me a Superglaze epoxy kit per 500 sq/ft. Its old wood I believe is the color. he said to fill the hole with coffee grounds and then epoxy over it. he had some for display and it looked good. Problem is now that I have it all here, I read the directions, and the epoxy says not to use it on floors. I have used epoxy before, Im familiar with it. I also know there are epoxys on floors al the time. what makes this epoxy different? or should I be less concerned and more of a cover our ass blanket statement? I just don't want to redo the epoxy 2 years down the road if there is a better solution.

    Hi John!

It sounds like you're working on a pretty cool project with your flooring. The reason the epoxy kit you have might not be recommended for floors is because it's probably not designed to handle the wear and tear that floors go through. Flooring-specific epoxies are made to be more durable and flexible for that kind of use. If you want to be cautious, you might want to grab an epoxy that's made just for floors. If you’re still set on using what you have, doing a small test area could help you see if it holds up. Good luck with your project—I hope it turns out just the way you and your wife are envisioning!
