  • cylinder type flapper- Can't identify part or manufacturer

Instead of the more common flapper, my toilet stopper is a hollow cylinder that moves up and down on a central overflow tube. The gasket on the bottom of the cylinder has come loose and thus the toilet water continues to run. I have searched the cylinder and can not find a label of the manufacture or a part number. I do see printed on the side of the cylinder "Assembly 1068533". The valve is a fluidmaster 400 for what it is worth.

I am trying to order a new part but have searched the web and cannot find this type of flapper system. Any ideas??? Thanks!

Sounds like it might be a Mansfield toilet but there are some similar to it...

      cylinder stopper

Hello Redwood and thanks for the prompt reply! Actually the toilet is a Kohler Archer model. The cylinder in is hollow and the flush valve seal is fixed to the bottom of the cylinder. The tip lever comes from the handle and is fixed to the cylinder via chain and hook that clips to the ouside of the cylinder. Hope this make sense! Thanks
