  • American Standard Tank Bolt Washers

Hi all, noob to site, jack of many trades, dangerous in many
The tank bolt washer set I pulled off had extensions that went into the tank body, similar to an old faucet washer. Anyone seen anything like this and know what it is called? I tried looking at a couple of plumbing sites and did a reverse price for tank parts but no luck.

I think the next option is to use washers and nuts under the tank. The darn tank has a 1/4 bubble slope. It was worse but I shimmed the bowl. Makes me think the silly thing could use two nuts between the tank and bowl to level it . . .

    Directions . . .

When things don't seem to be going as remembered, re-read directions. When they still don't seem to be going right, re-re-read directions.

Still wondering about those fancy washers . . . but tank is sealed, and after the new Douglas gasket leaked and was replaced (luck??) no more leaks.

Look back in the illustrations made up by lazypup. He shows the tank bolts with a washer in the tank and a washer outside of the tank followed by a brass nut. Below the toilet tank mounting hole use another rubber washer followed by a metal washer and another nut. The only purpose is to keep metal to porcelain contact that may crack the porcelain.
