  • Baseboard hot water question...

My son and I both have baseboard heat. Mine is an open system and I can easily put the necessary chemicals in through the outside wood burner. My son's, however, is a closed system heated by a natural gas furnace. We were wondering if there's a preferred level of ph or nitrates in a closed loop system. It's easy enough to test the water, but how would we add any needed chemicals for a proper balance?

You will have to pump the chemicals in with a transfer pump. Valve off your auto fill if you have one. drain down the pressure add in the chemical with the pump bringing the pressure back up circulate with out heating until chemicals are mixed through entire system. then open valve to water feed and continue to run like normal.
