Last year I had a contractor convert our shower to a tub/shower. The shower had a drain in the center of the floor. The tubs drain is at the far left of the tub. I didn't notice it after the install because I don't use that shower but I just tried using it (1.5 years later) yesterday and it drains TREMENDOUSLY slow. It seems to drain fine for about 30 seconds or so then it begins backing up. Does anyone have an idea of what I can do to fix it. I want to try everything possible prior to getting someone out here to ruin our tile/take the tub out, jackhammer the floor and replubm it.
The way it's connected now (what I can see). There is a drain that is connected to an overflow for the tub. They connect together at a T and about an inch lower, they take a 90 degree turn, where the pipe runs about 2.5 feet close to horizontal. I'm not sure how they link in with where the shower drain used to be since that's all covered with concrete now.
Please let me know of anything I can try to fix this.
Other things that I know: If I connect the high pressure bladders to the end of the water hose, put it into the pipe and turn it on, the water flows through fine so I don't think its a blocked drain down the line.
Thanks a lot (very frustrated),
David
