Shower Valve Keeps pushing itself on..

I push the knob off and the pressure just keeps pushing the knob back on.. it will not stay off.. I don't know what to do and I am guessing it is an easy fix.. Just don't know what to do.. I think it is a Gold Plated Kholer valve nothing is broken but some how.. your push it of.. and it just slides itself back on.. For a while.. i could hold it and it would stay off.. Yesterday.. (sorry for being redundant) I had to turn off the water in the entire house and then wait for a while.. before the valve would stay off..

Not sure what i need to do! help?

is your valve a single lever type faucet or a single handle that you turn from off to cold to hot or somewhere in between? the single lever uses a ball and two spring loaded seats inside the valve. is the top gland nut on tight? there is usually a rubber or silicone seal here.
