Hot Water in Shower But Not in Sink

    Folks,

First post here, so be gentle. I recently purchased a new home. In my bathroom I get hot water in the shower but the sink in the same bathroom does not get to the same heat level. The house has one water heater and a circulating pump. I am guessing the problem lies in the way the hot water circulates to the sink, but would like to hear other ideas.

    hot water

is your hot water feed a closed loop? that's about the only reason I see a circulating pump. there's a hot water loop all around the house to the devices, then the loop returns to the hot water heater to be reheated.
