  • Sewer gasses

    Hello All,
This is my first post. Hope I'm posting in the right place.

I am remodeling my basement. It's a newer bi-level home. (about 5 yrs old)
We're hoping to make a extra bedroom+family room out of it. Studs are up and ready for drywall.
We have an issue with sewer gasses in the basement.
Anytime anyone uses the downstairs guest bathroom, we get the foul odor in the basement.
There is a ejector pump in the basement that suppose to push out all the waste. I hear it and it does work.
Unfortunately, the odor is still there.

Does anyone have a solution to this??

I was thinking of installing a 4" pvc pipe through the sewer basin lid with a radon fan attached exiting it out the side wall.

    Thanks in advance.

    ejector pump

evidently there is no vent for the pump basin. the lid of the pump basin should have a seal on it and the gases developing inside the basin should be tied into your stack. reason for the ejector pump is that the sewer line is higher than the floor by some distance.
