  • Slow Drain

My drain in the bathroom drains very slow, but it isn't clogged... I have taken the trap off and inspected it and there weren't any obstructions. Upon further investigation it seems that when draining only a small portion of the pipe is flowing. It isn't allowing full capacity through. Does anyone know of another reason the drain would drain so slowly?

Were you able to see the bends or joints. That is where there is usually hair and other scum. You probably do have an obstrustion and need to snake it. You'll be amazed how fowl it can get. Liquid clog openers won't work with certain clogs. It depends on how far away the clog is and how much matter has accumulated.

Also, I am assuming that the drain use to flow normal. Maybe someone else has an idea.

I am no plumber, But your drain requires a vent to the out side to flow at full capacity! I would check to make sure that the vent protruding thru your roof is not blocked by anything! IE: birds nest, wasp/hornet nests.
