Hello -
Just purchased my second home. Upon moving in we have found that the master bedroom shower leaks constantly. All night we hear drip after drip. We have a Kohler single handle fixture. We have found that pulling hard on the handle to the off position significantly slows down (but does not stop) the drip rate.
I went to the local Ace store to see if a repair kit exists. The guy there said to take off the handle, remove the O ring and then find and stretch a spring and it will stop. Well, I took off the cover, removed a small o-ring, immediately behing it were 2 gear looking plastic pieces, and then from there I had a black, somewhat rounded plastic piece with a stem coming through it that I could not figure how to disassemble.
I had to put it back together and deal with the leaks. Any advice on how to fix this? Again, it is a Kohler single handle shower fixture that I am sure is original to the house, so it is 7 years old.
Thanks in advance!
