I went downstairs today to a bunch of water. Not so bad it is flooded but enough to know my hot water tank is leaking. I cleaned up the water and releaved the valve on the side of the tank. (TPR valve)(about 10 buckets of water) I didnt move the spigot near the bottom of the tank(drain valve). Here is a pic of approx where it is leaking. It seems to be coming from around a nut on the top part of the tank. Almost like the seal is dripping from around the top plate. I really cant afford a new tank, any suggestions on how to fix this one?

Why did you relieve the TPR valve, out of curiousity? Just to be clear, did you relieve 10 buckets or did it leak 10 buckets? The post sounds like you relieved 10 buckets worth.
I am presuming that your water heater insulation is foam, as if it were fiberglass it be more likely the leaking would run through the insulation and come out at the bottom.
The best you can do is carefuly inspect every thread connection up top and at the TPR and at the top element, and if none of that is leaking, I'd be sorry to say that your tank is leaking somewhere.
