  • Bathtub repairs

My husband and I just bought our first house. And our bathtub is just not right. It needs recaulking, I bought that today, and we have hairline cracks around the drain. The inspector said that a temp fix is to seal those, they aren't leaking as of yet, and then eventually we will replace the tub. So my question is what do I need to seal the cracks with?

    Thanks

If it's a temporary fix your after then a good quality 100% silicon caulk is what your going to need.
Apply it around the drain and smooth it over with your finger.

NOTE: this is not the preferred way to fix a potential bath tub drain leak. If you have an inspection panel behind your tub then the preferred way to fix any problem would be to remove and repair/replace the drain assembly.
Little about a lot and a lot about a little.
