  • Hot Water Delay (Electric Water Heater)

It takes about 30 seconds to get hot water from a faucet or for the shower. When I turn the shower more towards hot it takes about the same time for the adjustment to take effect. The water pressure is pretty good. Any ideas?

I'm considering buying a water heater with a more powerful heating unit. Mostly because I run out of hot water and it seems to take forever for more hot water to be available. I have 50 gallon tank and a jacuzzi type tub.

Dup dup; Welcome to the forum; Is this hot water heater more than a few feet away from the faucet/shower? If so, that will explain WHY the extra time to get it there. This is a common occurrance. Not too much you can do. Wrapping the line with foam insulation will help some, but short of relocating the heater, not much cure. Even with a larger heat element the water still has to travel this distance, and would not help. Maybe some others have a realistic and reasonable remedy. Hube
