  • Drain line in same run as electrical?

I am about to add an upstairs bathroom in my house. I will have the 3" drain come up from the 1st floor in a closet then horizontally in 2nd story floor to the toilet location. In my attic the drain pipe would either have to run horizontal east-west under electrical wires (including 220) going north-south. Is this possible? is there a distance they need to seperate or can they lie on top of each other, touching? Also, I could save alot of work if the pipes and electrical could run along side each other in the same horizontal run. Can you do that? They would touch each other.

    Thanks for any help.

the plumbing code says that a vent line can't be run horizontally. you can run it at an angle. there's nothing that says wires can't be run alongside plumbing runs.
