First time poster here. Wish I ould have known about this forum before years ago!
My issue this evening... I am pretty sure my well pump is shot. I have a two line above ground jet pump. Everything below ground was replaced a few years back, but we wanted to run the pump until it quit, and tonight was the night. I am going to replace the unit myself and am looking for any advise on the removal of the old pump.

Some concerns:
- The galv steel pipes coming from the unit itself (to the drop tubes) look like they will be tough to get off.
- I am concerned about keeping the drop tubes from falling into the well. I have some ideas for securing them, but any other input would be welcomed.
- Anything else to consider? I am thinking this should be a pretty straight forward operation...famous last words...
