  • Just Built a Shed...Anything Over Sheathing?

I just built a shed and sheathed it with 3/8"CD. I know I probably could have used 1/2" but this worked fine for a shed with 16" center studs.

Anyways, I am going to side it with vinyl. Do I need to put any type of water barrier before I put up the siding or can I just go ahead and do it? If I need to can you recommend one I can get easily at Home Depot? Just staple it in place?

Shed is only 6X8 around 11' tall at peak of roof and is in MN if it matters.

    Thanks

use a tyvek house wrap around the whole structure before you put on siding. when you nail on the siding don't nail all the way - leave some slop between the nailhead and the siding so the siding "floats" as in weather changes the siding will expand and contract. The j & f channels can be nailed home as well as the corner fittings.
