My husband and I recently moved into a 1915 home, and one room has bead board on three walls, but the bottom of the walls has the bead board going vertically, and the top of the walls has the bead board going horizontally, which we think looks strange. We'd like to disguise the bead board on the top half of the walls so that only the bottom, horizontally running bead board is visible. The bead board is behind the door frame so we'd prefer not to remove it altogether. Does anyone have any experience with disguising bead board by filling in the grooves with caulk or similar? There are large windows on all three walls, so there isn't a lot of surface area. We'd be grateful for any recommendations!
