  • Replace walls after mildew in walkin closet?

I live in a apt. condo by the ocean. Some clothing that was in a walkin closet (and unused for several years) was found to have mildew. Washed the walls down with vinegar for a quick solution. Do we need to replace the walls with newer moisture resistant wallboard? One wall faces bathroom (recently redone) and one faces outside which also recently had all bricks removed &new insulation put in. Is replacing walls overkills or does it sound prudent?

    Thanks in advance.

Probably overkill at this point. Insulation or lack of is usually the major culprit of interior mold issues. Now that you have the exterior re insulated you will probably find your mold issue doesn't return.
You could paint an oil based primer like "Zinsser" on the walls then repaint with the latex color of choice, the oil based primer acts like a vapor barrier, but I'm thinking this might be overkill at least until you see if the coming months bring in any possible issues.
Little about a lot and a lot about a little.
