    Interior Leak

I have damaged interior walls caused by water leaking in through the gable vent. This is a new house and the contractor claims it is wind driven water and he is not responsible. Is there ever a reason or justification for water leaking into a new home on a continuous and recurring basis?

I am not sure what to do next and would appreciate some advice and guidance.

    The reason, you already know.
    The justification, aren't you lucky.

If your vent fan is mounted inside a standard gable end vent, add an externally mounted, gravity damper.
