    Mobile Home Wallpaper Removal

I am planning on buying a piece of property with a 1996 double wide mobile home on it. I hate the way the little vertical strips are used to cover the vertical joints between each sheet of drywall. I am planning on removing the strips and mudding the joints. Is the wallpaper on the existing drywall removable like ordinary residential wallpaper? If so, does it require any different removal methods?

    Drywall..

Those panels are most likely a Masonite type that are covered. You can see similar to it at Lowe's or HD or such places. Mudding wouldn't work on this. About the best you could do would be to remove those separting strips and use an aggressively sticky vinyl tape over them. THen rewalpaper with what you'd like. THe seams wouldn't be all that noticeable unless it were a plain color. Any decoration on the paper would keep the eye from seeing the very minor rise from the tape.

Thanks for the info. I'll try the tape.
