  • A frame attic/painting

My A-frame attic redo has a 55" wide x 17 foot length ceiling run(horizontal). The roof line follows down to 3 and 1/2 foot walls. I need opinions!!! What constitutes the ceiling? Do I paint the 55" horizontal white and the roof line the color of my walls? Or do I paint the 55" and roof line white and my walls another color? Very confused and in need of someone who is familiar with this spacial concept!

    Thanks to ALL!!!

I have a similar situation in my house. the cross bracing, the 2X4s make up the ceiling while the angled rafters make up the remainder of the ceiling/wall. I painted just the horizontal part white and the rest the wall finish. example a white ceiling with a green paint for the knee walls and the angled rafters.

      Attic or Ceiling Painting

Yes, you could just paint the horizontal part white. One other option is to paint the entire room the same color. It can make the room look bigger. Jan
