    Replacing Stucco/Plaster Walls

I have a 2400 sq ft contemporary w/ high ceilings & skylights where all the interior walls are stucco/plaster. My question is how much would it cost to turn it into plain flat drywall.

    Thanks!!

stucco and plaster is affixed to the wall/ceiling surface using a metal lath screen which is in turn fastened to the studs. you'll need to locate all the studs to fasten the sheetrock to. I don't know for fact that the sheetrock screws will even penetrate the stucco which is concrete. bascially I'm thinking to knock down all the stucco and start anew. it will be expensive to say the least and very messy.

a cheaper option would be to put a few coats of joint compound over the stucco.
