Okay so Ive heard ALOT about this new stuff and we actually had some sales reps in here today to show us.
Word to the wise... MAKE SURE you thoroughly understand the product before you have a sales rep visit your home.
VERY PUSHY folks.
We ended up paying $40/sq foot for 450 sq feet which is $18,000. Well we havent paid that yet and may very well cancel our deal with them after reading articles of how I should only be paying $25 - $35 per sq/ft.
I guess what im wondering, is if it is even necessary to use this stuff. For accoustics its awesome.. for my child, its awesome because its 2.5" thick and totally padded. My only concern is the godawful price and is it worth it.
Everywhere I look I cannot find anyone saying anything bad about these folks... which is a good sign right? Thing is, Im wondering how much I could use some pink insulation foam, furring strips and drywall for 450 sq/ft. I guarantee it will be FAR less than $18k.
So is it worth it to have a durable, waterproof, padded, impossible to stain, easy to remove and replace material (each 4x8 sheet snaps in and out!!) instead of drywall which can be ruined by possible flooding (which hasnt happened yet) and need to be replaced if something (god forbid) should happen?
Keep in mind this 18k is NOT including carpet.
man this stuff isnt cheap...
anyone had experience with owens-corning or have any reccommendations?
