They are called shims I think. Is that what you mean? You put shims in the spaces and then seal it. Then you can trim it out. Hope that helps, let us know what questions you have!

Wasn't sure where to post this since I didn't see a window section.
Looks like prior owner replaced a window but didn't put wood back (trim and ???).


It looks like this all the way around the window.
I bought trim to put on the wall but what goes on the inside of the frame?
I assume just flat pieces of wood?
What is this called and what kind of wood do I use/buy?
