SO I'm in the market for a co-op, condo, etc. I saw this beautiful co-op today and the price is right up my alley. It's spacious but the apt itself is a bit on the need some fixing up side. It's not too bad at all but it does need a little work. The building itself is awesome. Very well kept and financially well off. So anyways, this apt is on the 6th floor and the 6th floor is the top floor. I've noticed that there are cracks on the ceiling. In the living room there is this long crack along the ceiling where it meets the wall. It's not going down the wall or across the ceiling but just along the connection of where the wall meets the ceiling. In the kitchen and bedroom though, there are cracks going along the ceiling. Some of these cracks like the one in the living room are not just hairline cracks. They are about say an 1/8th of an inch or so deep. I asked the real estate agent about it and he said it's due to settling. I asked about roof leaks and he said to his knowledge no. I don't know how much I can believe him. Should I not consider buying because of these cracks? Thanks guys.
