I have only been able to find Hardie Trim locally in 1x4, which is a HUGE problem for me as I need to stay with what is on the house at least appearance wise. Which is 1x2 rough sawn cedar. Now ripping lumber that dimension wouldn't be the slightest problem for me, just put it on my table saw , set the fence, set a featherboard, hook up the dust collector and rip away, but obviously I am NOT going to throw cement fiber board at my high dollar Freud blades. I have a Hardie blade for my circular saw, but I am not entirely certain how to rip this stuff using a circ saw... It WILL flex as I go down the material. Should I set the shoe depth just beyond the bottom and support it off the ground with something like ridgid foam insulation?

Or set the circular saw blade to 1/16" more than the thickness to be cut, lay the hardi board on some work horses and cut away, if you have plastic horses that is what the top of the work horses are for (sacrificial tops)Little about a lot and a lot about a little.
Every day is a learning day.
