  • Termite treatment

I recently discovered termites in my shed. I have purchased the termidor that I will be using, and have read on several sites about trenching around the building. A couple of sites mention rodding to 4ft. What is rodding? It isn't mentioned on the package insert.

Since the application rate is 4 gallons per 10 feet, both in the trench as well as in the holes drilled through slab concrete, why can't you just drill every 10-12 inches around the building and continue to use the same application rate?

    rodding

Rodding means driving a round rod into the earth then pulling it out. you fill the holes with your insecticide compound.
as a rule of thumb, look for mud tubes going from the earth [ground] up to the structure with the problem.
termites need water to survive. wood by itself doesn't contain enough moisture to keep the bug alive.
termites destroy the cellulose that makes up wood. they'll attack the softer layers of wood.
