  • No roof and it's raining

I hired a contractor to replace my roof. The project slid into the late fall. They tore off my old shingles Tuesday 10/31 and put up the ice dam and underlayment felt. Roofing was supposed to start Wednesday, but the truck showed up with the wrong material, the contract is for a 40 year laminate shingle. They had to bring the stuff in from out of town. Now they are scheduled to start tomorrow, Friday 11/3. This is a winter climate. We had serious morning frost earlier this week, and now it is raining and expected to stay raining for several days. Any advice on what to watch out for? Any chance this is not going to be a complete disaster.

the feltpaper should allow the rain to run off but additional tarp wouldn't hurt. make sure the contractor applies the roofing over DRY felt or you gonna have problems!
