My flat door is made of beech wood. a while after it was installed some small fissurings started appearing in it. also i could not lock the upper lock of the door because the door was kind of misplaced. it became somehow tilted. to lock the other lock i have to raise the door a little bit so that the lock itself would fit into the opening in the frame of the door. any suggestions?

beech wood is very soft and absorbs moisture easily. the door itself is made of a 1 x1 1/4 frame with corrugated cardboard as a filler. the beech wood is the veneer that is glued over both faces. tighten the upper hinge or put in longer screws so they penetrate the 2X4 frame beyond the casing. you may need to shim the lower hinge out a bit. after doing so the door may not close properly so you might have to plane off some wood to make it fit. use an 8 inch block plane.
