  • Effective way to facelift driveway

    Hi All,

My driveway has a crack in middle. It is not a straightline rather just like a curve path. It looks like the concrete still is in good condition. What I want to do is to do facelift instead of tear down the old concrete and put a new driveway which will cost me a lot of $.

I did a research. Here is what I find:
    1. Break up the concrete to become like a big piece of stone and then do the acid stain for color.

    2. Concrete overlay..which I am not familiar.

Does anyone have suggesstion? Which way is the
    preferable method?

    Thanks for any feedbacks!

Concrete is guaranteed to do two things:
    1. Stain
    2. Crack

Breaking up the driveway isn't a great idea in any way shape or form, you already don't like the crack you have and you want to add more ?
Let alone the simple fact that breaking up the concrete will cause it to loose all stability and strength.

A concrete overlay is basically just a thin layer of concrete over the existing concrete slab, this isn't going to help the cracked section plus you then have to deal with height differences as the overlay will be higher as it enters your garage or curb.
Little about a lot and a lot about a little.
Every day is a learning day.
