When our house was build the cement floor to the garage was left with a little pit of a "lip" that is higher than the rest of the floor and when it rains/snows the water will puddle there rather than run off the edge of the floor and down the drive way. The cement in question is just outside the garage door.

Is there any way to sand/saw cement so that this "lip" can be flattened. It is causing the cement to pit and I want it fixed but hubby is not good at this stuff.

    Thanks!!!

If it's the kind of lip I think your talking about you could use an angle grinder with a masonry wheel on it and simply grind down the lip, this is going to take a little time and patience is the name of the game, but it will be far cheaper than renting a concrete grinder/facer. You only need to grind down the lip not the slab.

Before you do anything open the garage door and put a level on the floor from the lip back into the garage, just check to make sure that it is "only" the lip.
