Mystery Reversal

My Liftmaster Chamberlain Model 3280 Garage Door Opener reverses on the way down though the safety photocell indicator lights remain steady. The light at the opener then flashes ten times telling me that the safety photocell caused the reversal. Is it possible for the light of a defective photocell to stay steady?

A few days later . . .
Guess what? The weather got a bit cooler and the problem disappeared (got my fingers crossed).
