  • old chamberlain opener that will not open

okay here's the deal I came across an old garage door opener made in 1992 that will not open .
when I open it up all the gears inside were fine.
so when I open it up and start working on it I found out that it will run just fine going down until it hits the connector to tell it to stop but when I push the button again to go up the motor does not reverse itself to go up its still is trying to go down.
if anybody can help me with this please let me know thank you

Check the forces and limits on the back of the motor. Their should be a travel limit switch somewhere on the back of the unit. It tells the motor how far to push the garage door down. Adjust this and see what happens...
