Garage Door Wont Stay Shut

Last night I noticed a wire running from the opener to the door that runs along the track was broken in the middle. Now the door closes, but opens back up when it hits the floor on closing.

I assume the wire has something to do with a sensor. Should I just try to splice this back together or should I do more?

splice

follow any color codes withing the wire and splice together. the down force sensor may be disconnected with that broken wire.

It's the close limit wire, splice it together.
