    Genie ISD1000 will not open

i own a Genie Excelerator ISD1000 that will not open. When i press the wall mounted console to open the door, i hear a click, and that is it. I tried both the car remote and outside keypad and neither open the door. The STB system has one green and one red light lit and appears to be functoning properly. The door is in balance so that does not appear to be the issue. All wires and connections appear fine. The opener worked for about three years and then one day...nothing.

Any help would be greatly appriciated.

It's possible that you have a bad capacitor. You can take off the cover and try to replace it yourself. It's about a $20 part. If you are not familiar with electronics, though, I would recommend calling your local garage door repair company.

Unplug the opener for 10-20 seconds and the plug it back in. Push the wall button and if it's ok it will run the first full cycle slow.
Check and see how many blink you get on the green status light next to the up/down force adjuster.

You might need transmitter repair. It's hard to tell. I would recommend contacting a specialist for garage door opener repair.
