  • Genie Pro Max chain off track. Is there an easy way to put it back on track ?

We have a Genie Pro Max garage door opener. This is the older style. I've seen videos where there is a tension screw that you can loosen to put the chain back on track but our garage door doesn't have that. Is there an easy way to put the chain back on track ? We tried to manually chain it by starting the garage door motor and immedietly shutting it off but with no luck. Any help will be appreciated.

It should have a adjuster/tensioner at the pulley that you loosen(its a bolt for 1/2" wrench very much right under the pulley at the wall, as you turn it, it move the pulley for more or less tension) and get the chain back on. You can loosen up the whole nose pulley bracket and twist it to the side, but that can be pretty hard to do.

Have the opener in close or open position, pull the chain so the white plastic rack on the chain is in the same or close to position as the opener. Then when you get the chain back on it will only be small adjustment of the up/down settings.
