Extension spring replacement...

Replaced extension spring. All looks connected correctly but door will not close manually.
Can close it about halfway and bounces back up. Will not go down on its own at all I have to pull it.
Do I have an incorrect spring size?
Door is 7.5x9
Have not tried it with opener.

If the door bounce back up from halfway point, you have way too much spring or too much tension.
Measure the length, diameter and the thickness of the spring wire on the old and the new spring.
If you pulled it too tight when installed, you can get too much tension as you close the door.
Check and recheck everything make sure all have been installed correctly.
