My garage door opener remote was stolen from my car. My garage door is old (a Sears 139.655000, it only has one red reset button on the back) and the remotes have been discontinued; so I purchased a new garage door receiver and remote. The receiver is a Craftsman 315. The remote has black buttons on a grey case which, I've been told, indicates it's 315 mhz and compatible with the receiver I bought. I hooked up the receiver by connecting it to the place on the motor unit where the old, push button, wall unit connects. I can make the door go up by pushing the button on the new receiver so I think that is set up correct. I followed the directions to sync the new remote with the receiver by pushing the learn button on the receiver and then pushing and holding the remote button but it doesn't open the door afterwards. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
