Thinking about it, though, even if your new remote can technically talk to your old opener, there's a good chance that trusty steed is getting on in years. One day that remote might be the least of your worries – you might be facing a creaky hinge or a grumpy motor.
On the other hand, if the old opener is humming along like a happy hornet, there's no need to fix what isn't broken, right? Maybe hold onto that new remote as a spare and see how long that classic opener keeps kicking. If things do get dicey down the line, though, there's always the trusty internet to find some garage door repair in Dallas heroes! Anyone else have experience with these old-timers and new remotes?

Can't see the image. But yeah, sometimes it's possible to use a new remote with old garage door openers. Check the compatibility, frequency, and security features of the new remote.

Does that help? Looks like a Genie Lift a Door, by Alliance. Looks pretty old but I am not sure much has changed with the wireless technology for these.

Old Garage Door Opener - Possible To Use New Remote?
I cannot find any kind of radio or transmission button on this. Wondering if it’s even possible.
Any help would be appreciated.
pics in link below. Thanks for all the help, I’m very new at this. Previous owner did all that wiring, etc.
