I have quite a mess of over grown shrubs/bushes that the former owner never maintained. As you can see they are even starting to grow all over the place in random spots. I want to remove and kill them and replant new flower bushes and other things. Which bushes if any should I leave, and how should I go about removing this mess of bushes so I can replant what I want without the old roots disturbing the new bushes? There is also this black sheet of something around everything. I dont know what its called, its used for landscaping. Should I remove all of that too? As you can tell, Ive never really done any landscaping. Thanks!
