trencher work

can anyone give me an idea on how long would take me to trench 150 feet using a 18 inch walk beside trencher.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That's kind of a loaded question, in sand it should take no longer than 1 hour, in moderate clay 2 hours in rock or very stony ground 4 hours.
If you have never used a trencher before add another 30 minutes to 1 hour for "the learning process"

Thanks for your help.One other thing, There is a well head near where I want to trench, how close can I dig
to it?

Assuming it's a reasonably new (ish) well then it's probably between a 2" and 6" in diameter, it should have a concrete pad poured around the PVC pipe and it should not be any bigger than about 3' diameter.

AS always it might be better to hand dig immediately around the well just to be sure, while I mention that don't forget to call "Call before you dig" to mark out any lines.
