  • Removing Paint on Screens

Mother's Day promise was to paint the screened-in porch. I bought the best paint I could find ... Duration by Sherwin-Williams.

Despite using painters tape, some paint got on the screens. How do I get it off? I don't want to put too much pressure on the screen as it will then not be so tight or I might push right through it.

if the screen is made of a fiber weave you got a problem, if its made of metal wire or aluminum, support it from underneath with a block of wood and use a small wire toothbrush on the paint. lowes or home depot should have it. as far as the fiber goes, wet a sponge and lay it down on the boo-boo, wait a few hours for the paint to soften then scrub it off with a terry washcloth.

I'd suggest trying some paint stripper (thick paste ) on a small area to make sure it doesn't damage the screen material. You apply a small amount of the paint removal paste with a brush, wait a few minutes and hose it off. I bet it will work - Good Luck!
