  • Paint peeling

    Hello everyone,

I need help with my wall paint peeling despite painting it many times. Plumber have checked the bathroom behind the wall several times. Anyone have any ideas why this might be happening?

It sounds really frustrating to keep painting your wall only for the paint to peel again. Since a plumber has already checked for leaks, it’s likely the issue is caused by something else. Moisture is often the main culprit, especially if it's a bathroom wall, since humidity can build up even without a leak. Ventilation plays a big role in preventing this—if the area isn’t well-ventilated, it might be worth adding or improving an exhaust fan. Another possibility is that the wall wasn’t properly prepared before painting, like sanding, cleaning, or applying a primer. If the surface isn’t smooth or there are layers of old paint, the new paint won’t stick well. It could also be an issue with the type of paint being used—bathrooms need moisture-resistant paint to hold up in humid conditions. Lastly, condensation or hidden waterproofing problems might be letting moisture through the walls, causing the paint to bubble and peel. A professional opinion or testing for hidden moisture could help figure out the exact cause.
