Did you know that vinegar makes a great cleaning aid? Ok, you probably did, but do you know why? It's the acetic acid in vinegar that makes it so great for household cleaning. Vinegar is proven to be non toxic and antibacterial, making it a great cleaning agent. But enough about the why, let's get down to the how to use vinegar!

1. Kitchen and Bathroom cleaner. Mix half a cup of distilled vinegar with 1 cup of warm water. This is a good basic mixture, but you can make it stronger if you like. Get a wet rag or sponge and scrub surfaces in the kitchen/bathroom. (Do not use vinegar on marble or stone surfaces. It could ruin it.)

2. Drain Cleaner. Instead of Drano or something similar, use a mixture of baking soda and vinegar. Pour 1 cup of baking soda down the drain, then follow it with 1 cup of hot distilled vinegar (boil the vinegar like you would boil water). Let it sit for 30 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with hot water.

3. Odor remover. Place a bowl of vinegar in the middle of a stinky room for a couple hours. This should get rid of any unpleasant odor.

There are tons more things you could use vinegar for, but these are the most useful in my experience. How do you use vinegar for cleaning?
