Hi,
I read your previous post about pumps and breakers and I would like you take on my problem.
I have two pool pumps (1 1/2 and 2 HP). both on a double 20amp breaker, with 12 wire. the breaker kept tripping and I replaced it. Inside were corroded contacts on the clamp end and internally on the points.
The pumps run together, and have a startup surge and a run speed amp requirements. I do not know if the bad breaker was causing the excess resistance which made the pumps run hot (the case of motors are 140 degrees), or the pumps are causing the excess resistance to make the breaker burn.
I replaced one motor, and it still tripped, then I replaced the breaker, and so far no tripping.
any ideas. thank you
