Hello everyone.
I’m looking to upgrade my welding helmet and would appreciate some advice from people who have tried different models. I mostly do MIG and stick welding, with occasional TIG work, so I’m wondering what features are actually worth paying for. Are auto-darkening lenses reliable enough for regular shop use, and how important is a larger viewing area?
I’ve also noticed that welding hoods come with different shade ranges, sensitivity settings, and headgear designs. For anyone who has used several types, which features made the biggest difference in comfort and visibility?
I’d also like recommendations for a durable hood that won’t feel heavy during longer welding sessions.
