need product to absorb water

House is pier and beam and have lots of water in crawl space under house due to broken pipe. Need a product that will absorb water, something better than the "kitty litter" type product we've already tried, which only adds to the sticky mud. Is there anything that will absorb and can then be removed? TIA.

I would recommend borrowing or buying a wet/dry shop vac. They have models now that will suck up the water and then pump it out a regular garden hose. Much easier than hauling away a water soaked material.
