    repair oak ballet bar

One of the students leaned back and snapped the ballet bar in half right at the finger joint. luckily the bar was right next to the heater and it broke clean. Now to repair this. It is a 10 foot sections of 1 and 5 eighths inch dowell. I could use either tight bond II or epoxy clamped off and then reinforce with some countersunk screws.

I can try this before she replaces the bar.

Epoxy or wood glue Is my question in all this.
It\'s sometimes better to be lucky than smart.

Double ended lag screw (course threaded screw that has threads on both ends) then glue.
Little about a lot and a lot about a little.
